Changing Places is about the landscapes beauty, informed in colourful marks, patterns and structure to form compositions of the central west and some iconic Aussie destinations such as the Kimberley, Kakadu and Flinders Ranges.

INFORMATION

CHANGING PLACES is a landscape exhibition about seeing constant change and hope. Hope being a function of art which needs to be cherished because it gives us encouragement to appreciate the world around us. Henley can’t get enough of the Australian landscape. The natural areas give spiritual and emotional hope and the managed areas give productive hope. Changing Places is about the landscapes beauty which is informed by colourful marks, patterns and structures. It forms compositions of the central west and some iconic Aussie destinations such as the Kimberley, Kakadu and Flinders Ranges. Balancing an art practice with farming in the central west of NSW throws up many challenges  and opportunities. Not knowing what the seasons will bring, from drought to floods, and seeing the changes have an affect on the landscape is inspirational. This quote from A.Dillard resonates throughout Henley's work: “The secret of seeing is the pearl of great price, it can be found, but it cannot be sought, it is always a gift and a total surprise.“
