Each of these works have been created as I travelled across the world including central America, the Middle East, South-East Asia and Europe. Often creating work as an outsider, insolation and alone, these works reflect the colours of life I witness and encounter, an expression of my own emotions and my own perception of a place and its people.
While travelling, my work pieces became smaller in a postcard form, allowing me to create a visual diary on the go. To me, the organic shapes are each unique, drawing on a memory of a certain time and space, while together each piece forms as a whole journey. Moments in time where I was settled in a place for a period of time are recreated on the bigger canvases. The use of bigger canvases represents a freedom and endless possibilities (not hindered by lack of supplies or needing to be on the move!).
The most amazing journey within the past five years was the one that led me into motherhood and this is reflected in my most important piece named after my son ‘Moosa’. Moosa reflects a new experience and created over my pregnancy – beginning prior to pregnancy, painting while three months, six months and eight month pregnant, and finally completed after giving birth to my son. It was a work in progress that constantly changed through my personal growth, drawing on my emotions of becoming a mother and reflects a journey of love and the bond between myself and my beautiful Moosa.

Aspired to create artwork that is bold, intricate and vibrant, my art is a creative outlet of reflection of my daily life and its’ moments.
I spent my childhood in Sri Lanka and adolescence in Sydney, each serving as a source of inspiration and endless cultural symbols and signs that that developed my deep and profound interest in self-expression through colour, texture and creation of art. Cultural traditions inspire my artwork, as does my own life - my memories are infused into my artwork.
My life is a documented visual diary through my artwork, with all parts of my life becoming a form artwork. I do not see art as a part of my daily life, but rather my life has become art.
