My painting style is figurative with an alternative, fantastical sensibility. I am often concerned with animals with domestic objects in an incongruous setting.

INFORMATION

Interior spaces require exterior space to exist. Our encroachment on environments & the impact on the creatures that inhabit outside spaces are secondary to our needs.

This is an environmental & conservation discussion. Using vintage wallpaper I am referencing mid-century interiors, an era of abundance of resource, of rapid growth & little awareness of mankind’s impact on the earth.

This body of work is about domestication of our environment & our engagement with it as a separate entity – that it’s existence is for our benefit, to be tamed & observed for our purposes only.
