‘Nothing’s ever what it seems’ is an exhibition that explores themes of perfection, gender relationships, bodily fluids and the interconnected relations between humans and their environments.
Laden with sexual undertones, mythical creatures, exotic environments and human flesh these dystopic worlds delve into the artist’s own precarious fantasies. Amid the furore of vibrant colours are dark, sinister nuances harnessed in dripping bodily fluids, bloody tear stains, disjointed limbs and appropriated faces. Drawing on nature’s patterns and colours alongside kitsch pop-cultural forms the artworks delve into a surreal fantasyland that ‘nothing’s what it seems’ upon first glance.
BK DIECI is an emerging artist working across a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, textiles and digital media.
