The work emphasises colour and geometry, creates a strong sense of perspective and accepts the difficulties of pinhole photography - image softness, sun flares etc are all unavoidable parts of the show.
This project is a kind of “Slow Photography” in that it is film based, rather than digital. Because the cameras I use have pinholes rather than lenses, exposure times are more likely minutes rather than fractions of a second. On the other hand, the cameras are made with a 3d printer (from that grocery shop that has all those weird specials every week - you know the one).

Allan has a BFA (Hons) from the National Art School. He works mainly with film based photography including pinholes and alternative processes such as emulsion lifts and cyanotypes. His previous solo show was at Firstdraft Gallery and he has participated in several group shows.
