My exhibition describes a world that is not ordinarily experienced — the seemingly alien world of the very deep sea and the microscopic zooplankton and phytoplankton. This series of work concentrates on bioluminescence and the way these creatures use it, for communicating, catching prey or avoiding predators.

The exhibition is an installation and a collection of paintings.
The installation is housed inside a completely dark space. Lighting highlights the creatures use the bioluminescence to their needs. A colour changing light alternating blue, red and yellow change the artworks. Sounds of the Mariana Trench and far off whale sounds add to the ambiance of the installation.
The acrylic paintings on canvas describe deep-sea creatures and abstracts of microscopic plankton. These paintings also have luminescence pigment in them,
My creative concept describes a world that we are dependent on for our survival, the origin of life on earth, the predictor of climate change and yet a completely alien world to us when we remember that more people have been on the moon than in the deep sea on earth.
