Edwards’ abstract painting practice investigates visual elements, such as using bold expressionist colour and geometry as compositional strategies while her photographic practice investigates the same themes with an emphasis on the subtle and subdued urban street imagery.

INFORMATION

‘Afterward’ explores the interrelationships between abstraction and hyper-fixation – an inquiry into the admiration of urban/suburban mundane localities and the banal and commonplace. This series investigates through photographic documentation a collection of spaces and objects, often disregarded and discarded, and how these captured moments may ignite our curiosity about the sociological nature of how we, as individuals in a collective society, interact with our daily environments.
