"My work is an assemblage of languages from reality, dreams, and divination."
My Decision paintings are a visual articulation of the decisions I’ve been making during this unpredictable year and the efforts to relinquish a sense of control over my life.
Through my practice I am working on recovering my intuition after recently releasing myself from the emotional rollercoaster of artificial hormones and a codependent relationship.
My work is an assemblage of languages from reality, dreams, and divination. I use these elements to visually define gut feelings, the feeling of social pressure, self doubt, and internal moral conflict and to manifest results.
Sophia Fleming is an interdisciplinary artist working in painting, installation, and ceramics.
She is currently working out of her studio in Marrickville. Sophia received her bachelor's degree in Art from the University of California Santa Barbara with a focus in painting and sculpture in 2020. Her playful multi-media installations push the imperfections of the materials and welcome in viewers from a point of familiarity to then encourage a departure into more serious contemplation on the temporality of life and the interconnectedness of everyone and everything.
